TECHNICAL SHEET COLOR OIL PIGMENTED OIL
Colorant based on modified vegetable oils designed for coloring and impregnating indoor wooden floors in a single operation. Easy to use, uniformly colors the wooden floor, penetrates deeply, protects the wood from the attack of molds and fungi. Suitable for all essences but produces the best results and for this reason it is recommended to use it on woods with a large grain such as oak, larch, chestnut…. Color Oil can be painted with water-based paints or oleourethane finishes. Available in various shades that can be mixed together in any proportion to obtain a practically infinite range of colours: NATURAL, CHESTNUT, WENGE', DARK WALNUT, LIGHT WALNUT, WHITE, GREY.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION Prepare the floor by smoothing, grouting with Recoll products and sanding (final sanding is recommended with 150 grit), remove detaching parts such as oils, waxes, silicones. The substrate to be treated must be dry, with humidity of 8 – 12%. Room temperature from 15 to 25°C, relative humidity not exceeding 75%. After sanding, clean the entire surface with a vacuum cleaner and then with an antistatic cloth. The smoothing and sanding phases must be carried out with particular care as any imperfection will be accentuated by the dye.
APPLICATION Apply COLOR OIL to the floor using a pad, a wax spreader, a rubber spatula, a short-haired roller, a rag or a brush. Homogenize with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, taking care not to leave excess product. After 5/10 minutes, use a floor polisher with a white or beige disc. Excessive waiting times can cause difficulties in the uniformity of the product. The intensity of the coloring can be increased by applying a second coat of COLOR OIL after 4-12 hours, in the same way. For less intense colours, dilute COLOR OIL with DILUENTE OIL (max 10%).
WATER-BASED PAINT FINISH After no less than 24 hours, carry out a water-based paint with one of the following products following the relative technical data sheets, ACQUAFOND, ACQUALUX TOP, ACQUALUX H2, ACQUALUX SPECIAL 1K AND ACQUALUX SPECIAL 2K. For the white and gray colors it is advisable to wait 48/72 hours. IMPORTANT: after applying the first coat of water-based varnish, lightly sand before proceeding with the second coat.
NATURAL OIL FINISH After no less than 24 hours, apply OLIOPAV without sanding or, alternatively, scrupulously following the instructions given in the respective technical data sheets. For the white and gray colors it is advisable to wait 48/72 hours. THIS FINISHING CYCLE IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THE WHITE AND GRINGIO COLORS AS IT CAUSES YELLOWING OF THE INITIAL COLOR.
URETHANE OIL FINISH: After no less than 24 hours, apply a first coat of RE-OIL. After 24 hours sand lightly and proceed with a possible second coat of the same product. For the white and gray colors it is advisable to wait 48/72 hours. THIS FINISHING CYCLE IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THE WHITE AND GRINGIO COLORS AS IT CAUSES YELLOWING OF THE INITIAL COLOR.
NOTES Always carry out preliminary tests with the entire finishing cycle to ensure the possibility of obtaining the desired result and exclude variations in tone with the various products used. SHAKE WELL WITH THE AID OF A SPATULA BEFORE AND DURING USE.
RESIDUES AND OIL-DIRTY RAGS MUST BE THROWN AWAY AFTER TREATING WITH WATER TO AVOID SELF-COMBUSTION PHENOMENA
