DESCRIPTION OLIOPAV is a product based on natural resins and oils, specially designed for the protection of wood, and in particular of parquet. The use of this product gives good resistance to abrasion to the treated products, even without the formation of a visible film on the surface, and enhances the "warm" aspect of the wood in its natural state. OLIOPAV is suitable both for artisanal application on new or old wooden floors that have been re-sanded, pre-sanded and possibly brushed, as well as for the industrial production of pre-finished parquet. OLIOPAV acts both as an impregnating agent penetrating deeply into the wood, and as a finish, giving a very resistant surface protection which repels dirt. With the product it is possible to effectively nourish the wood and protect it from wear and tear and from chemical agents for domestic use. OLIOPAV is available in a colorless transparent version with a satin effect.
ARTISAN APPLICATION The application can be done with a roller, brush, metal spatula or pad (sponge, paper, fabric). • On the smooth and perfectly dust-free floor, apply OLIOPAV, taking care to spread it as evenly as possible. After 10 -15 minutes, remove any excess product not absorbed by the wood with a rag or a polyurethane rubber spatula (this operation is generally superfluous when the oil is applied with a metal spatula). Within 20 - 30 min. from application, before the surface is completely dry, pass the single-brush machine fitted with the green cleaning disc, at low speed, to uniform. After about 4 hours it is advisable to brush again with a yellow or white cleaning disc to eliminate any traces of oil from the joints and knots in the wood. After 24 hours, proceed with the application of a second coat with the procedure already used previously, always bearing in mind the recommended coverage. Within 20 - 30 min. brush with a green cleaner pad to even out. After 3 - 4 hours polish if necessary with a white or yellow polishing disc. • For a quick cycle, apply a coat of OLIOPAV with a spatula and, after 60 minutes, a second coat if needed. After the first coat it is possible that the oil does not appear perfectly absorbed within the indicated period of time; in this case, use a single brush fitted with a green disc before applying the second coat. Within 20 - 30 min. after the end of the application, pass again the polishing machine equipped with the green cleaning disc. If necessary, polish with a white or yellow disc after at least 60 minutes.
WARNINGS OLIOPAV must be mixed well before being applied. Whatever the method followed for the application, the oil must be well "stretched", referring to the yields recommended by us. At the end of the work all the product must have been absorbed by the wood. A too abundant spread can in fact cause drying problems, especially in correspondence with joints and knots. We recommend acclimatising and applying the products at temperatures not lower than +15° C. In the hot months, to avoid too rapid drying, and in cases of difficult spreading, it is advisable to dilute the oils with 5 -10% LYMPHOSOLV. THINNER After use, the rags and possibly the paper impregnated with the products must be immersed in water before being thrown away, to avoid self-combustion phenomena.
USE AND MAINTENANCE OF OIL-TREATED WOODEN FLOORS Once the impregnation treatment has been completed, the floor can be walked on with caution after 24 hours. For 7-10 days it is advisable to avoid placing heavy furniture and carpets, after which the floor can be subjected to normal wear and tear and maintenance. For routine cleaning and maintenance, we recommend the use of our PULI-OIL wood soap. For extraordinary maintenance and the restoration of worn or damaged areas, after thorough cleaning with PULI-OIL, apply our RIPA-OIL repair oil.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION OLIOPAV can also be applied on an industrial line for the production of prefinished parquet. It is very important to apply low weights (8-12 g/m² at each pass) and it is essential to brush with tampico or sisal immediately after applying each coat, to obtain good oil penetration and optimal drying of the product. The possible use of a hot air tunnel (5055 °C for 100-120 sec.), if available, speeds up the drying.
Attention! It should be noted that both weights and drying times are related to the type of wood being treated. The higher its absorption capacity, the greater the weight and the faster the drying. As a general rule, to obtain a good level finish we recommend total weights (by application in several passes) of 60 -70 g/m² on porous and very absorbent woods, and of 50 -60 g/m² on compact and low absorbent woods .
Do not throw any residues into the ground or into drains!
The products will keep for at least 12 months if stored in a cool, dry place, in their original unopened containers.
