ELASTOXYL - ultra-elastic sealant for indoor and outdoor parquet. (for adhesion on teak look at the specific prymer at the bottom of the page)
¤ Description
ELASTOXYL is a very elastic single-component silane sealant of very high quality, suitable for sealing wooden floors indoors and outdoors; excellent for deck caulking. It is easy to apply, high elasticity which remains constant over time, good adhesion to most surfaces, excellent resistance to chemical products and atmospheric agents, excellent resistance to fresh water and sea water. Given its particular chemical nature, ELASTOXYL does not foam during the hardening phase.
¤ Instructions for use
ELASTOXYL must be applied on perfectly clean, degreased, dust-free and free from release materials substrates. We therefore recommend cleaning the joints using a brush soaked in PURE ACETONE THINNER and priming with PRYMER ELASTOXYL. Before applying ELASTOXYL, check that the temperature of the wood does not exceed +25°C / +28°C and that it has a residual humidity of 12% ±1 (HIDROMETTE GANN HT 85 electronic detection instrument). The width of the joints is fundamental and must be proportional to the width of the staves used and the depth of the joint (see attached table). Apply ELASTOXYL keeping the gun inclined at 45° to avoid trapping air. It is advisable to work at a temperature between +10°C and +35°C in well-ventilated areas, in the absence of dust and protected from bad weather, avoiding direct exposure to UV rays. Avoid prolonged contact of sealants with aggressive solutions and solutions containing acids, bases, solvents and chlorine. After application, press the joint into the joint using the special smooth trowel and remove any excess. ELASTOXYL must be worked within 25 minutes of laying (at +20°C, 50% RH). It can be smoothed and sanded after total hardening (3 mm thick every 24 hours); however not before 7 days. It can be painted over (a preliminary test is recommended).
