Description

ZERO FILLERS

Art. 506103

Tin 5LT

DESCRIPTION
Solvent-free water-based binder for the preparation of fillers for sealing wooden floors. The EC1 PLUS classification certifies the very low emission of volatile organic compounds both during use and after installation of the floor. Mixed with wood flour obtained by sanding with fine grain (120 grain) it gives rise to a grout of the same color as the floor. Suitable for water-based painting cycles. Not suitable for the preparation of fillers with Merbau powder.

APPLICATION
Sand the wooden floor with coarse and medium sandpaper and vacuum.
Prepare the grout by mixing the product with wood dust, obtained from sanding with 120 grit, of the same wood species being treated (mixtures obtained from wood flour derived from sanding with larger grits can cause grouting to decrease). Once a spreadable mix has been obtained, proceed to sealing the floor using an American stainless steel or plastic material trowel, trying to get as much product as possible into the cracks. It is important to avoid leaving accumulations of grout as these would take a long time to dry. The average waiting time for sanding is 1 hour but it can vary according to the size of the cracks and the environmental conditions. For example, thin cracks in normal conditions of humidity and temperature are perfectly sandable in about 30 minutes, large cracks (for example knots) in conditions of high humidity can take several hours before being completely dry. After drying, the floor can be sanded with 60/80 grit or finer. Any product residues left in the grain of the wood must be eliminated in the subsequent finishing phases; for example with an 80 grain mesh. If necessary, make another pass with the same operating methods and proceed with the application of the mono or bi-component water-based primer and/or the mono or bi-component water-based varnish of the Vermeister line according to the indications of the relative technical data sheets. The use of fillers prepared with ZERO FILLER and subsequent finishing with solvent-based primers and varnishes is not recommended due to the possible occurrence of removal and shrinkage phenomena, especially in the case of large cracks. Thanks to the great sandability it is possible to carry out a "touch-up" grouting before passing the finer mesh. The grout prepared and not used completely can be kept for several days in closed plastic cans without losing its spreadability characteristics.
