BRIEF COMPANY HISTORY

In 1935 G?hner laid the foundation stone of the present company in the Seefeld district of Zurich.
exploited its woodworking know-how already? at a young age? to build wooden car bodies for the German automotive industry.
In 1935 H. Hofer developed? the patent for mosaic parquet.
In 1939 Bauwerk acquired? the production rights for Lignofloor parquet.
In 1942 the TUFA of Altst?tten accelerated? the development of mosaic parquet.
In 1944 Ernst G?hner married? the production of parquet from Altst?tten at its current location in St. Margrethen.
In 1947 Ernst G?hner and J. Vannini officially established Bauwerk Parkett for the production of parquet and the development of modern machinery for this process. From 1952 the latter were exported all over the world.
Years of continuous optimization and innovation followed. Branches in Austria (1954) and Germany (1987) were created.
In 1984, the 1,000,000th square meter of parquet was produced. 2007 saw the introduction of Bauwerk's most successful innovation: the Monopark.
2010 ? it was the year of the awards. We won not only the award for best market entry in exports from OSEC, but also the bronze Designers Award at Designers' Saturday in Langenthal, Switzerland.
